Dr. Bijan O. Aalami, SE
Founder and Chairman

A practicing structural engineer and software developer, Dr. Aalami, Professor Emeritus of Civil Engineering at San Francisco State University, is a world renound leader in the analysis and design of concrete structures with a specialization in post-tensioning. For over three decades, Bijan has been a driving force in the structural design industry and has made significant contributions to the advancement of bridge and building design with software tools, design literature, consulting, and training services.

Dr. Aalami has been actively engaged in the design and construction of numerous notable post-tensioned buildings, bridges, and special structures. Additionally, he has advanced the industry through worldwide educational seminars and extensive publications on concrete design. These resources have enriched the practice of engineers worldwide.

As Founder of ADAPT Corporation, Dr. Aalami has been instrumental in delivering leading software, consulting services, and professional training programs to structural design professionals worldwide. For over 30 years, Dr. Aalami has been developing and enhancing the ADAPT software suite, which serves more than 3500 customers in over 85 countries worldwide.

Dr. Aalami earned his doctoral degree in structural engineering from Imperial College of Science and Technology and Medicine, London. As a Fulbright Scholar at Brown University, RI, and the University of California, Los Angeles, he carried out seminal research on the dynamic analysis of structures using the finite element technique.

In 2003, the Post-Tensioning Institute conferred upon Dr. Bijan O. Aalami lifetime membership in recognition of his outstanding technical leadership and remarkable contributions to the post-tensioning industry and the Institute.


Dr. Florian B. Aalami
President and CEO

Florian is an expert in AEC software development and the design and construction of post-tensioned concrete structures. As President and CEO of ADAPT Corporation, he is responsible for the overall operation of the company including its software development, sales and consulting divisions. Florian has taken specific interest in leading the company’s international expansion efforts. He is also driving ADAPT’s strategic initiative to develop a fully integrated design solution for reinforced and post-tensioned concrete buildings and bridges. Dr. Aalami earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and both a master's degree in structural engineering and a doctoral degree from Stanford University’s Center for Integrated Facility Engineering (CIFE), a leading think tank on Building Information Modeling (BIM).


Mr. Suranjan Bhanja
CEO ADAPT International

Mr.Suranjan Bhanja is a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, a premier Institute in India. He has about thirty years of rich global experience in International S ales, Marketing, Business Development and General Management across sectors that include engineering products, A/E/C software solutions, IT / ITeS and BPO / KPO services. He is extremely familiar with the business dynamics of the Indian Subcontinent, China, Russia, Africa and the entire APAC region. He also has protracted experience in handling global business promotion of prestressing steel and systems, namely HT wires, PC Strands, the Gifford Udal / CCL prestressing system (for both pre and post tensioning), structural systems for cable supported bridges and structures, etc. Mr Bhanja has worked in different capacities with various organizations of global repute, namely as Vice President-International Business of Usha Martin Industries Limited, as the Chief Operating Officer- Asian Operations of Research Engineers Limited/ Netguru and as Executive Director Bentley Systems India Private Limited.


Dr. Esneyder Montoya, PEng, PE
Vice President of Business Development
General Manager ADAPT Latin America

Dr. Esneyder Montoya brings over 19 years of structural engineering experience covering projects in Canada, the United States and Latin America. Dr. Montoya holds doctoral and master degrees from the University of Toronto and is a licensed professional engineer in several countries. ADAPT is leveraging his broad international design and market experience to further broaden ADAPT’s solution footprint in North America, Europe and Latin America. In addition to his business development responsibilities, Esneyder is heavily involved in ADAPT’s strategic product development initiatives for advanced design technology of structural concrete building and bridge projects. He is a member of the ADAPT Educational Institute, training engineers around the globe in the efficient use of ADAPT software solutions and concrete design.


Mrs. Carine Magalhaes
Vice President Engineering Services

As VP of Engineering Services, Carine oversees ADAPT’s team of engineers and modelers that carry out specialized investigation, design and shop drawing production services for our clients’ post-tensioned building projects. Past projects completed range from podium slabs in California, large-scale projects (over 500,000 m2) with accelerated schedules in Dubai, to 84-story landmark high-rise towers in Qatar. She has a proven track record of working with our clients to deliver projects on time and within the design parameters specified by them. Furthermore, Carine prides herself on delivering projects that are constructible and highly optimized, while rigorously meeting stringent serviceability requirements.

Ms. Magalhaes holds degrees in Structural Engineering and brings 11 years of dedicated experience working on post-tensioned projects. Project types designed include apartment buildings, parking garages, high-rise buildings, shopping malls, hospitals, airport terminals, transfer slabs, and podium slabs supporting a variety of complex structures.


Mr. Amit Sahai
Vice President Sales & Marketing - ADAPT International

Amit is an MBA with over 12 years of experience in International Sales, Marketing, Channel Management & Business Development of various products and A/E/C software solutions. Amit presently handles the complete Sales & Marketing activities in the Afro-Asia Pacific region. Amit was previously handling various similar key roles in globally reputed organizations such as Usha Martin Industries, Research Engineers / Netguru Inc.and Bentley Systems Inc.


Mr. Partha Pratim Roy
Vice President Technical – ADAPT International

Partha holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from The Bengal Engineering and Science University, Kolkata, a premier and one of the oldest institutes in India. He has more than 12 years of global experience in various A/E/C software solutions. He presently handles Global Technical Support and is also responsible for all Training and Pre/Post Sales Technical matters for Afro-Asia Pacific region. Partha has earlier worked in key positions with global responsibilities in Research Engineers/Netguru Inc and Bentley Systems Inc.


Mr. Spencer Lee, SE
Vice President Client Services

As VP of Client Services with ADAPT, Spencer brings nearly 10 years of practical design experience having worked in the structural design and consulting industries. He has a diverse design background having worked on projects such as office, multi-residential, stadiums, convention centers, educational, healthcare and seismic retrofit. He brings a unique perspective to the ADAPT Technical Services team having gone through many of the same design challenges that our clients experience. Mr. Lee is a registered PE and SE and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Brigham Young University and a Master’s degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
